A
powerful and disturbing book that masterfully uncovers our deepest
secret — the
need to believe in something beyond ourselves.

I
really enjoyed this book, and I found that the way that it was written
easy to read. … this book answers some gnawing questions that some
may have, and for others it will give a little more insight… .
I am glad that I have purchased this book.

The
world is being prepared for a delusion of cosmic proportions. The author
examines the "facts" surrounding copious UFO sightings
and informs us of information that often is ignored, inaccurate and even
fabricated. … This book is fast paced, packed with fascinating
information and very easy for the common person to understand. Bates
does a superb job of taking some quite advanced scientific theories and
thoughts and explaining them to the regular joe like your's truly. If
you are fascinated by the whole world of UFOs and ETs than this book
is a must read! You may be shocked at what you learn.

I
have read very few books that have impressed me as much as this one!
The author has done an excellent job in presenting strong, well researched
evidence and arguments dealing with two of the most widely debated
topics of our time. He thoroughly and objectively explores all sides,
and the conclusions he comes to are very well supported, both scientifically
and logically. No matter what your world view is, this book will change
the way you look at things! Don't pass this one up because of the strange
subject matter. This is a MUST read for everybody! Enjoy!

I
thought this was very interesting reading. I'm not a fan of UFO phenomenon
but I was curious to see where the Author, … would go with this
topic. After reading the book I was impressed with his research and insights.
While the topic is from the "fringe" and many would consider
any time spent on it a waste, I have to say that with this book that
was not my experience. The topic of UFOs and aliens has captured the
imagination of the popular culture and media and has had an impact on
how the average person views the world and his place in it. … Bates
does discuss much of the fraud that has permeated the subject of UFOs
but he doesn't belittle the many people who genuinely believe that they
have had a UFO-related experience. It is difficult to dismiss all the
people (some well known and/or regarded) through the years who have reported
this type of experience as being deceptive, disturbed, or stupid. …

Thome
I
have never had a "UFO experience",
but have thought that something strange has to actually be occurring
for so many people to have such experiences. This book treats the subject
in a forthright and objective manner. Gary Bates also provides the
rest of the story on some well-known abduction stories. If you are
like me and other books on this subject have left you with more questions
than answers you will find that this book is different. Gary Bates
brings remarkable clarity and discernment to a troubling topic. I believe
that it is vitally important in our day and age that we understand
this phenomenon for what it really is.

If
you don't like having your world view challenged, don't read this book.
If you're afraid that what you believe might not stand to scientific
scrutiny, don't read this book. If you are satisfied with current theories
on evolution, origins, and UFOs, don't read this book. If you're trembling
with fear that science might not be perfect, and are teetering on the
edge of chaotic confusion, brush this one off as "silly religious
babble",
and retain some of your false sense of superior knowledge. If you haven't
read this book, give it a one star review, and some people might not
see through your feeble state of denial. If your understanding of reality
is enough for you, and it matches the media's interpretation of science.
Don't read this book. - Anyone who I have not covered so far... READ
THIS BOOK!!!!!!!

At
first I was skeptical. Who really believes in aliens? What insights
could Mr. Bates possibly offer on such a clear-cut topic? How surprised
I was! From the first page, I was hooked. The book is filled with a
wealth of fascinating detail, not just about famous incidents (Roswell,
crop circles, the Billy Meier abductions, etc.), but about the modern
culture that has ignited the "UFO phenomenon." Step by step,
the author presents well-researched facts and lets the reader make
his own conclusions. By the end of the book, I felt ready to "connect
all the pieces"--and
my view of the modern world was changed forever. I dare any skeptic to
read this book and remain unaffected.

I
LOVED reading it, kept me glued to the pages; everyone I've given it
to read says that it's unlike any `UFO' book they've ever read. Bates,
a long-term sci-fi fan, has a racy, exciting style that takes you for
a journey of discovery that's mind-blowing and enjoyable. He takes
a hard look at the two extremes and finds them both wanting: the total
skeptics (there has to be a `normal' explanation for every one of the
reports) and the `true believers' who just swallow every latest claim
about extraterrestrials, no matter how bizarre. Even though he's a
Christian, it's not just your usual `Christian UFO' explanation where
`one size fits all', either. I found the sections on Roswell and on
abduction experiences especially riveting. More importantly, his research,
trying to put it all together, draws you to conclusions that make sense
of all aspects of the data in this hitherto (to me) puzzling phenomenon.
Especially important when you consider that this phenomenon forms the
basis of the world's fastest-growing belief system. I found his evidence
and conclusions convincing-so much so that if the UFO community wa
nts to be taken seriously, it will have to always deal with and refer
to the compilation of evidence and the analysis in this fantastic work,
in one form or another. I spoke to a physicist who read it, he said
it changed the whole way he looks at the world, forever.

Just
finished your book, Alien Intrusion. Excellent, detailed anthology
on UFOs. Highly recommended for those open to obtain UFO knowledge
and for advanced readers who are interested in gaining another perspective
as to "Who Are They? Why Are They Here?".

If
you are a fan of the "X-Files" or if the "Twilight
Zone" or 2001: A Space Odyssey or Close Encounters of the Third
Kind are a couple of your favorite movies, then you will LOVE this book!
The author has done an investigative study of UFOs, aliens, and cults
associated with them, and has come to some startling conclusions. Most
everyone has heard of Roswell, New Mexico, and a full chapter is devoted
to it, describing in detail the events that took place in 1947, the people
involved, and the mysteries remaining. Then author Gary Bates gives his
opinion of what really happened.
If you are really interested in UFOs, then you will be familiar with
Travis Walton, who claimed to have been abducted by aliens from a forest
in 1975, while six other men watched. The whole story is here. Fascinating
stories of other famous abductions are included, as well as possible
explanations. The story of the first death attributed to a UFO is also
recounted. You will be fascinated to learn the connections between the
increase in UFO sightings and the movies produced in Hollywood. Many
science fiction movies are discussed here. Do you want to know more about
crop circles? You'll find those here. Cults formed due to UFOs are also
discussed here, and the "religious" men
and women who head them. Are there alien "landing strips" in South
America? Are aliens mentioned in the Bible? Gary Bates will tell you. What
does the government (or governments, as UFOs have been sighted around the
world) know? Are they withholding information? Do we have anything to fear?
What should we do? You need to read this fantastic book, probably the most
unique book I've ever read about UFOs and the phenomena associated with them.

… I thoroughly
enjoyed reading your book, Alien Intrusion! It
gives solid answers to questions about the existence of aliens… I
didn't know what to make of people who claimed to have seen UFOs or have
been abducted by aliens. I thought that they were either pranksters or
nutcases! I was also surprised to read how many people believe that aliens
are visiting earth and even more surprising was the number of people
who claim to have been abducted by aliens. … I will certainly
not look at
the subject of UFOs and aliens in the same light again! After reading
your book, I can appreciate the immense amount of time and research that
must have gone into writing it, especially judging from the many references
at the end of each chapter! Most of my friends who have seen your
book or heard me talk about it are very interested in the subject
and have asked to borrow it after my family are finished reading it (looks as
though I may never see it again.)!

Gary,
your research and understanding of the field was absolutely outstanding.
Your coverage of fact and fiction was very thorough. You presented
everything very clearly and understandably. Each “page” had
my glued attention, causing me to eagerly look forward to my daily

I
am a skeptic, so I was interested in this book as a way to see that
I am right in being one. I was surprised with all his research, views
and quotes however, and I finished the book much less a skeptic. … I
would definitely recommend reading this one!
